Yesterday was the first day of our spring break and I decided to celebrate by going somewhere I haven’t been before. I went to Nanshi 南市, which means ”southern city” (and trust me, I even knew this without translating) and It’s known as the old town of Shanghai. It’s the area south of the famous Yuyuan Garden, which is one of the main attractions in Shanghai. As it was the first day of spring break Yuyuan Garden was super busy and crowded, but Nanshi was surprisingly calm (of course not the part close to the Yuyuan Garden). I haven’t seen that many tourists in this area and I really liked the vibe of this place. It’s a perfect place if you’re interested in more old school Chinese atmosphere and need a little break from the modern and noise Shanghai.
